These are dark and unprecedented days for Am Yisrael, our people. At LSJS, we stand with the UK Jewish community in solidarity with all our brothers and sisters in Israel. We pray from afar for the safe return of our brave loved ones as they leave to defend our beloved country from unspeakable terror. And we hope for the speedy and safe return of the many hostages taken. May God protect them and all of the Israel Defense Forces and give strength to our people and to all those suffering at this time.
Many of you - our students, teachers, graduates and alumni - are currently in Israel or have children or loved ones there. Our thoughts are with you. We are one family and will do all we can to support each other.
In the days and weeks ahead, as a learning community we will provide focused and appropriate opportunities to learn and we will connect with our educators in Israel. We will also join with others in the UK and overseas Jewish education community to provide tools and guidance to those with the vital task of educating our young people at this difficult time, shaping their attitudes and connections to Israel for years to come.
May God grant our people peace, safety and security and better days ahead.
