The LSJS Rabbi Sacks Learning Fellowship offers Jewish young professionals the opportunity to seek meaningful answers to some of the most important questions in Jewish thought, while establishing a regular anchor of serious learning in their lives.

Inspired by the teachings and legacy of Rabbi Sacks, fellows engage deeply with his ideas, consider how they apply to contemporary personal, professional and communal life, and share them with others through a community project.

We are delighted to be able to offer this programme for free, reflecting our investment in the future of Jewish learning.

Fellows are expected to attend and actively participate in all aspects of the programme, including:

  • In person Shabbaton in London, UK, in Autumn 2027. LSJS will provide accommodation on the Friday night and all meals throughout the Shabbaton. Fellows must arrange and pay for their own travel to/from the Shabbaton and purchase their own travel/medical insurance if based outside of the UK. Fellows travelling from outside of London/UK may request a travel bursary of up to £100 GBP. This will take the form of reimbursement upon provision of receipts to LSJS.
  • Learning sessions in person at the LSJS Campus in London approximately fortnightly on Monday evenings, 7-9pm, from September 2027 to July 2028. Fellows outside of London/UK must participate online. A schedule will be provided to Fellows at the start of the programme.
  • Complete a community project to share their learning with others by the completion of the fellowship. The nature of the project is determined in discussions with each Fellow’s mentor, and should reflect each individual’s unique strengths and role in the community.

  • Three personal mentoring sessions with an LSJS educator to aid your learning.
  • Receive an exclusive Rabbi Sacks Reader, which includes a compendium of his most significant articles and maps out Rabbi Sacks’ writing career in stages and themes.
  • Koren gift voucher for £100 to jump-start your Jewish learning, issued upon completion of the project.
  • Free access to all LSJS educational courses and events throughout the year (excluding tours and Ulpan).
  • Join an alumni network of talented, thoughtful and aspirational young professionals who thirst for Jewish learning.
