BA (Hons) Jewish Education

2018/19 applications window now open.

If you are currently working in a school as an unqualified Jewish Studies or Hebrew teacher, or want to become a Jewish Studies or Hebrew teacher, our new BA Jewish Education can help you on the road to becoming a fully qualified teacher and gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

This four year, part time, competitively priced degree course can be combined with a paid or volunteer position in a school. You may be able to apply prior credit, learning (including Jewish learning) or relevant teaching experience and complete the BA more quickly.

You will take a wide range of modules designed to improve your understanding of a variety of areas including:

  • The unique nature of Jewish Schools and Jewish settings
  • How children develop and learn within those settings
  • How to plan and teach better Jewish Studies lessons
  • Catering for all learners including those with special educational needs (SEN)

Certificate in Jewish Education

In as little as one year (using APL) you can get a university recognised certificate in Jewish Education. This will provide you with the foundation of Jewish Education University Credits and you may then transfer onto the full degree.
