With Rabbi Dr Glenn Bezalel, Rabbanit Surale Rosen
Advanced halacha learning for women.

Isn’t driving on Shabbat ‘less work’ than walking? Why can’t Ashkenazim put chicken soup on a hot plate - and why can Sephardim?

The 39 Melachot lie at the heart of the halachot of Shabbat, yet remarkably little about them is written explicitly in the Torah. The LSJS Iyun Programme offers women the opportunity to learn these laws in depth, independently, with guidance from two expert teachers: Rabbanit Surale Rosen and Rabbi Dr Glenn Bezalel.

  • Trace the development of law through Mishna, Midrashei Halacha, Gemara, Rishonim and modern Responsa
  • Shiurim on how we apply these halachot in real life
  • Gain a broad overview of all 39 Melachot of Shabbat, studying many of them in-depth
  • Take strides in your Jewish learning journey and feel confident to know where to look when you have a halachic question.

The LSJS Iyun Programme meets the demand from women seeking to learn Gemara and Halacha at a high level and raises the standard of women’s knowledge of the halachic process in the UK and beyond.
