Dr Stewart J. Brookes has a PhD in English Literature from King's College, London. He has taught literature at UCL, Cambridge and Oxford, and at Vassar College in New York where he was Fishman Fellow in Jewish Literature. Stewart currently works on a project to recatalogue the medieval manuscripts at the Bodleian Library and teaches Chaucer to school children for The Chaucer Heritage Trust. His research interests include medieval manuscript studies and the representation, and self-representation, of Jews and Jewishnesses in books and on screen.
