School Direct

School Direct gives you the chance to learn ‘on the job’ in a school.

You work as part of the teaching team from day one –  learning from experienced, practicing colleagues and immediately putting your new skills into practice.

This option is perfect if you are working in a school without QTS or thinking of a career change.

Train on the job via either the Primary or Secondary School Direct programmes. Get a salary whilst you train. This is appropriate for those who are currently working in a school without QTS, TAs who wish to train as a teacher or anyone with 2 years post-graduate work experience (in any field).

Key Points:

  • Earn a salary whilst you train.
  • Become a qualified primary or secondary school teacher (religious studies or modern foreign languages) in one year.
  • Train in high-performing schools.
  • Be taught by experts and school leaders.

School Direct Secondary allows you to train as a religious studies (Jewish studies) teacher or a modern foreign language teacher (modern Hebrew, Spanish, French or German).
