About LSJS
Introduction

The Jewish Responsibility Unit (JRU) bridges the gap between Jewish wisdom and Jewish action by:

·           Teaching our community the Jewish ethics of responsibility

·           Inspiring people in the field with a deep understanding of their work

·           Enabling all of us to get more involved in social change

JRU’s work includes running courses and events across the UK, teaching the values of Jewish responsibility and how to implement change in their own communities and beyond. We are particularly proud of our Rabbis and Imams Group and of our Jewish Guide to World Religions course and of our Gan Teva on the LSJS Campus. These initiatives help Jews to better understand the way that others live, promote an understanding of orthodox Jewish values and promote peaceful coexistence and positive social action. We seek to help those more vulnerable members of our community and beyond. For example, we work closely with Project Chesed. We also address issues such as global poverty, climate change, eco-systems, developmental aid and trade injustice.

The LSJS Jewish Responsibility Unit is led by Rabbi Natan Levy (rabbilevy@lsjs.ac.uk) and Leonie Lewis MBA. To fi nd out more or to get involved as a volunteer, please contact the LSJS Office info@lsjs.ac.uk or call 020 8203 6427
