Julie Apfel studied at Michlelet Orot and Machon Pardes and has a BSc from LSE. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ programme and teaches at the LJCC’s Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.
 
 
Dayan Ivan Binstock is a Dayan at the London Beth Din and Rabbi of St John's Wood Synagogue.
 
 
Naomi Braham has taught Tanach and Biblical Hebrew Grammar on various levels both in this country and in Israel for more than five years.  She also tutors private pupils for GCSE and A Level Biblical Hebrew.  The teaching of Biblical Hebrew Grammar and text was the subject of her Masters degree research project. 
 
 
Sally Berkovic is the author of Under My Hat - a personal narrative addressed to her daughters, exploring the impact of the women’s movement on Orthodox Judaism and the challenges facing Jewish women wishing to reconcile the demands of tradition with competing secular opportunities.
 
 
Amanda Bradley attended Midreshet Lindenbaum in Jerusalem. She has a BA, an MA in Medieval History, and is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Woemn Educators' Programme.
 
 
Dr Harris Bor has a PhD in History from Cambridge University and an LLM from London University (QM&W). He has been a visiting scholar at UCL and a teaching fellow at Harvard University. He has taught courses covering many periods in Jewish History. He is currently a barrister in a law firm.
 
 
Dina Brawer was born in Milan, Italy and educated in Jerusalem, New York and London. She holds a BA in Jewish Studies and an MA in Education and Psychology. She is an active Rebbetzin in her community in Elstree & Borehamwood and a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
 
Rabbi Jeremy Bruce received semicha from Yeshivat Hamivtar (Brovender’s) and is the Assistant Head teacher of King Solomon High School.  
 

Rabbi Leo Dee is Assistant Rabbi at Hendon United Synagogue, Raleigh Close. Obtaining a degree from Cambridge, he spent 10 years working in Finance and Consulting before studying for Smicha in Efrat under the auspices of Rabbi Shlomo Riskin. He is husband to Lucy and father to five children and a regular teacher at LSJS and 'Lunch and Learns' around London.

 
Dr Benjamin Elton is an Honorary Research Fellow at LSJS.  His PhD thesis was recently published as Britain's Chief Rabbis and the Religious Character of Anglo-Jewry 1880-1970.  He is an official at the Judicial Appointments Commission and the editor of Degel, the Alei Tzion community at LSJS.
 
 
Felicia Epstein is an Assistant Solicitor at Pattinson & Brewer. She is a member of the Employment Law Association, the Industrial Law Society, the Discrimination Law Association, and DDARAP. Before moving to the UK, she was Director of Development and International Spokesperson for the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. Felicia sits on the LSJS Council.
 
 
 
Alistair Falk is Director of Educational Leadership at UJIA. He was Head of the Independent Jewish Day School, founding Head of King Solomon High School, first principal of the West London Academy and is a Jerusalem Fellows graduate. He has an MA in the management of Community Education from Warwick University.
 

Ian Gamse holds degrees in Mathematics and Hebrew Studies from the University of Cambridge and was the first foreign student at Yeshivat Or Etzion. Ian served on the LSJS Council as Treasurer.

  
Angela Gluck is the co-director of the Insted (Inservice Training & Educational Development) consultancy, which specialises in equality and diversity. She works as a teacher trainer, broadcaster, curriculum developer and consultant to schools and local authorities. Angela devotes part of her work to teaching children, young people and adults and is the author of over 40 publications on aspects of religion and history.
 
 
Rina Gurvitz was born in Jerusalem and is a teacher of the Hebrew Studies Ulpan.  She has been a Hebrew teacher for 20 years and currently also works at the London Jewish Cultural Centre and in the Israeli Sunday School.
 
 
Ariel Kahn teaches Literature and Creative Writing at Roehampton University. He has studied the writings of Rav Kook for many years since his days at Yeshivat HaMivtar (Brovender’s). Ariel is completing a PhD which is a novel of spiritual quests set in contemporary Israel.
 
 
Rabbi Danny Kerbel is Head Teacher of North West London Jewish Day School (NWJDS). 
 
 
Yolanda Kerbel works for the UJIA Jewish Curriculum Project (JCP). She has written educational materials for Tzedek and taught at Hasmonean Girls High School.
 
 
Rabbi Michael Laitner is assistant rabbi at South Hampstead Synagogue. He studied at Yeshivat Hamivtar (Brovender’s) and the Sha’al Institute, and has degrees in history and law from the Universities of Leeds and London respectively.
 
 
 
Dr Leya Landau has a PhD in English Literature and has lectured in the English Department of University College London. She is a graduate of Bnos Chava Seminary in Jerusalem and now specialises in 18th- and early 19th-century English Literature.
 
 
Clive Lawton has been a chief examiner, a high school head, and lecturer in Jewish Education at SOAS. He was also a visiting lecturer at the Universities of Surrey and Southampton, teaching Educational Development, Curriculum Design, Religious Studies and Community Development. He has three MAs including Religious Studies and Educational Management.
 
 
Elkan Levy is Director of the Office of Small Communities, Chair of the New Singer’s Prayer Book Committee and a past President of the United Synagogue.
 
 
Leonie Lewis MBA is the Chief Executive of the Jewish Volunteering Network and the lead advisor to the LSJS Jewish Responsibility Unit.  A key focus of her work has been interfaith issues and training. Previously she was the Director of the Community Development Department at the United Synagogue.
 
 
Rabbi David Lister is Rabbi of Edgware Synagogue and currently taking the LSJS MA Je4wish Education Theory to Practice
 
 
Sandy Littman teaches Tanach to lively groups of women and participates in interfaith scriptural reasoning groups. She has an MPhil in Comparative Semitics and is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ programme.
 
 
Rabbi Reuven Livingstone is a qualified barrister and solicitor. He lectured for many years at Jews’ College and is the author of Contract in the Law of Obligations, which compares Jewish and English Common Law. He is rabbi of Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue.
 
 
Professor Elliot Malamet is a visiting lecturer at LSJS.  He lectures in the faculties of Education and Jewish Studies at York University in Toronto, and teaches at The Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto, the largest Jewish high school in North America, where he wrote the Jewish Ethics and Philosophy curriculum.   He is currentlya t work on a book which examines the ethics of strangers.
 
 
Rabbi David Mason received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Econometrics from LSE and then spent seven years in yeshivot in Israel where he received semicha. He is a previous rabbi of Kingston, Surbiton and District Synagogue and is now rabbi of Muswell Hill Synagogue. He also represents the Chief Rabbi on issues of International Aid and Development.
 
 
Debbie Meyer has a degree in Law from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and qualified as a solicitor both in Israel and the UK. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
Mimi Meyer has a BA in Psychology and studied at Michlala in Jerusalem. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellwoships.
 

Dr Helena Miller is the Director of Research and Evaluation at United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA). She has a PhD in Jewish Education and is senior editor of The International Handbook of Jewish Education, a two volume collection due to be published by Springer early in 2011.

Karine Morris has a BA in Politics and Psychology from Bar Ilan University and studied in their Beit Midrash. She has taught Jewish Studies in Hasmonean High School and is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
Roisy Nevies is a teacher on our women’s programmes and a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators Fellowships.
 
 
Jacqueline Nicholls is an artist, writer and educator and has displayed her work in Israel, UK and Sweden. She studied at Nishmat College in Israel and the Byam Shaw School of Fine Arts in London. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Educators’ Fellowhsips. 
 
 
Na’ama Roselaar has degrees in mathematics and Jewish education, and is and currently studying Occupational Therapy. She learned in Midreshet Lindenbaum and Nishmat in Jerusalem, and Drisha in New York.
 
 
Aliza Rubner was born in Tel Aviv and studied at Bar Ilan University where she gained a BA in Lashon Ivrit v’sifrut (Hebrew Language & Literature) and a teaching certificate in Ivrit v’Tanach (Hebrew & Bible). She is currently teaching Ivrit and Tanach at Menorah High School.
 
 
Lindsay Simmonds has a degree in Speech and Language Pathology and has an MSc in Gender Studies from LSE, where she is now working towards a PhD. She studied at Nishmat in Jerusalem, was a Bruria Scholar at Midreshet Lindenbaum, and is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
Michelle Sint has a BA in Hebrew English and American Studies and an M.A in Jewish Studies. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
Donna Solomon has years of experience in informal Jewish education. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships.
 
 
Rabbi Johnny Solomon is Head of Jewish Studies at Hasmonean High School for Girls.  Before moving to Hasmonean he led the secondary curiculum team at the Jertish Curriculum Partnership (JCP), and was  previously Head of Jewish Studies at Immanuel College.  
 
 
Evelyn Stern has an MA Abd in Government from Cornell University and an MA in Jewish Studies from Jew’s College. She also teaches at the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.
 
 
Joe Wolfson spent three years studying at Yeshivat Har Etzion (Gush) and the Herzog Institute in Israel.  He read Social and Political Science at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he was co-President of the Jewish Society.  He has taught in Israel, Australia and in New York at the Riverdale Jewish Center.  This year he is doing his Masters in Legal and Political Theory at UCL's School of Public Policy.
